Could it be difficult to obtain car finance because I have only been in the UK for 14 months

I was looking at a car yesterday and was told i could be rejected for car finance because I have only been in the UK for 14 months. I have been at my job for a year now and make decent money, I could definately afford the monthly payments. I have 2 credit cards that are almost maxed out but I do make payments every month on time, I think I only ever had one late payment. I have been trying to build a credit history. I am on the electoral register and have been a private tenant for a year. Do they assume that I will take the car and go back to my home country (which is Germany by the way) and I think the UK and Germany have an agreement to investigate international fraud. Any experiences?

Answer2:Why not buy a car in Germany and bring it back here?
Answer3:The finance company ask for 3 years af addresses to make sure you are not committing fraud. It is only part of the process in making a decission - it will also look at your credit card payment history and affordability. If everything else stacks up the you will be fine if not go to one of the banks where you have your credit cards - they know your history (I would also ask them for a quote - as car finance can be expensive anyway).Ignore David W (above) your recent history is in the UK and as you know we drive on the opposite sides of the road!!!

Answer5:You need a credit history of 2 years before you can get this sort of credit - also, as you have maxed your credit cards you obviously cant afford it, this may affect your application.
